You Don’t Have to Disappear to Survive

Stories & Truth

One thing you will never get from me in this corner of the cosmos, is fluff. No filler. No small talk. No truth shaped around comfort instead of reality. Instead think of me as your fairy godmother with a backbone. The straight shooter. The one who tells the truth through the heart of compassion, not avoidance. My intention is, was, and always will be, to join, connect, and illuminate. It is never to divide, isolate, or condemn.

It’s important to make that known right away, because when truth first arrives in our lives, it has this way of rattling our insides. That rattling can feel deeply uncomfortable, and discomfort shows up, human instinct kicks in fast. We fight. We defend… or… we shut down all together.

Shutting down usually looks innocent enough. Scrolling social media until your thumb hurts. Zoning out to the latest Netflix series. Pouring wine until your face starts to tingle and your edges soften just enough to get through the night.

Being a truth teller by trade, I like to put this on the table right out of the gate. Not to brace you for impact, but to orient and gently open the door to a new way of being. Think of it as message number one in a, ‘what to expect when you’re not expecting anything” guidebook.

With intention clear, it becomes easier to move through discomfort instead of trying to numb it. It becomes easier to stay present long enough to allow something else to happen. In this case, magic. The kind that only shows up once you move through discomfort.

When you understand how discomfort works inside you, it becomes hard not to notice it everywhere around you. What we avoid personally, has a funny way of showing up collectively.

And that brings us to the moment we are living in now.

Unless you have been living under a rock like Patrick from Sponge Bob; you can feel it. A world that’s hypersensitive. Brittle. Rage-filled. A culture stretched so thin, it feels like it may crumble apart at the slightest pressure. It’s overwhelming, but, and as strange as this may sound, it’s actually not a bad place in history to be.

When systems and people get brittle, pretending stops working. Cracks form, and every crack reveals what has never been sustainable to begin with. What’s hollow breaks. What claims to be real, gets tested. And here’s the key; if you are willing to move slowly instead of react quickly, something else becomes entirely possible too.

Clarity. Creativity. Courage.

These are the things that lead you back to a life of magic. With clarity, you remember that moments like the one we’re living through now, aren’t asking us to pick sides, fight harder, or numb ourselves into submission. With creativity, you begin to imagine a different way of being. And with courage, you become brave enough to live the life you were made for.

Which brings us to the only questions that really matter:

Can you stay present with magic through it? Can you stay anchored in truth? Can you remain open while everything implodes? Can you resist the urge to shut down, tune out, and numb your discomfort long enough to feel what’s really alive within you?

These questions don’t come from theory. They come from my lived experience, saying yes to these questions in my own life, time and time again. I’ve said yes in seasons that were beautiful and in seasons that nearly broke me, which is how I know… If yes is possible for me, it is possible for you too.

And that is why I am here, Soul Shakers. Not to hand you another belief system, another side to choose, or another wellness routine to perfect…. But to show you how to live magic inside your actual life, regardless of what’s happening around you. I am here to show you how to come alive again.

You don’t have to disappear to survive this time in history.

You survive by staying along enough to feel the magic inside it.

Much Love,

Jaimie
